Titanic: The Ship Magnificent

Titanic: The Ship Magnificent, Volumes 1 & 2
by
Bruce Beveridge, Scott Andrews, Steve Hall, & Daniel Klistorner
edited by Art Braunschweiger

The Titanic was long assumed to be nearly identical to her older sister Olympic. Much data was available on the Olympic, but until now, very little information on the Titanic proper was available. This has now been rectified by the publication of these two volumes. Both books are 8.27" x 11.69" (210x297 mm) and have been released in hardcover format by The History Press. Volume 1 is 688 pages, while Volume 2 is 520 pages.

The authors and editor, trustees of the Titanic Research & Modeling Association, made a special attempt to take highly technical concepts and details and make them understandable to the common reader. Many misconceptions about the liner's construction and features have been laid to rest with finality; on other points, the authors acknowledge that further information may make certain points more clear in the future -- a refreshing attitude in the Titanic community. Even so, as the authors write on their official web site for the book, Titanic: The Ship Magnificent "will reveal Titanic to you as you've never seen before."

Plans are also in the works to release a special limited edition (250 copies) boxed set.

Volume 1 ISBN: 978-0752446066 (ISBN 10: 0752446061)
Volume 2 ISBN: 978-0752446264 (ISBN 10: 0752446266)

John Maxtone-Graham is one of the most renowned maritime historians of our time, and his previous work, The Only Way to Cross, is still one of the finest publications on the Atlantic liners. This new volume is a beautiful publication, filled with photographs of the Queen Mary 2, and comparing her with a longstanding lineage of previous Queens. A must-have for all maritime enthusiasts.

Titanic: Safety, Speed & Sacrifice
by
George Behe

George Behe is one of the most remarkable "Titanic detectives" that there is. Within the pages of this publication, Behe has put together some remarkable information on 1) the arrival time of the Titanic in New York if her maiden voyage had been completed successfully and, 2) that the Titanic's lookouts may have sighted icebergs before the one which doomed the ship, but that her officers took no action. The book is some 88 pages in length, and is packed with illustrations; with introduction by Don Lynch. A must have for any Titanic buff!

Bruce Beveridge & Steve Hall

This publication does far more than de-bunk the conspiracy theory surrounding the Titanic and her sister Olympic. It is by far one of the most detailed publications specifying the differences between the two ships. The book is packed with many rare and previously unseen pictures of the liners. It has already won the Titanic Book of the Year award, and should be on the shelf of any Titanic or maritime enthusiast.
